Hey guys, this is my first post so not sure if anyone will even see this or respond but I’ve noticed these markings on my variegated umbrella plant (this is the newest bit of growth) and wondered if anyone could advise on what it is? Each of the brown dots is slightly raised. I can’t see any pests on it, I don’t have any known pest problems in my other plants, the soil isn’t too moist and I’m watering and using fertiliser etc as I should be. She’s also on the outskirts of a grow light (probably 1.5ft under and maybe 9-10in to the side) which is on 12hrs a day due to having no south facing windows in my apartment. Mind the little spikes on the stems, she was a victim of a cactus attack in the store when I bought her😭 I’ve repotted her today into a better draining soil mix (potting compost, orchid bark and perlite), because she was still in her nursery pot with the soil that b&q use which isn’t the best. She wasn’t root bound and had no sign of root rot. I’m a fairly new plant mum so pls be kind x - I’ve attached a picture of the plant from above so you can see the other leaves. Thanks in advance 🩷

I started getting plants from B&Q , now only try and only purchase from local garden centers, problem with most b&q’s is they don’t seem to be looked after once in store, went to a few and most were buried in all different bugs and so many in there plastic wrap, so they don’t get the correct light levels, and some don’t get watered or they get drowned, Ai says it’s possibly over watered or poor water schedule , the 2nd pic not sure if it’s a bit of dirt or bug but near center of your palm there is a black dot. I’d be incline to cut that leaf back to bottom of stem because it could be infected, then give it a gentle shower wiping leaves as you go just in case there is anything hidden on leaves, they may be in the crevices so maybe a spray down with mild couple of drops of dish soap in water unless you have a bug spray …………………………………………Ai- result Oedema (Edema): Inconsistent watering, particularly overwatering, can cause Oedema, leading to reddish or discolored spots on the leaves. Fungal Infection: Fungal infections can also manifest as spots on plant leaves, potentially requiring treatment with a fungicide. Pest Damage: While not explicitly visible in the image, pest infestations can also cause leaf discoloration and spotting, so checking for tiny black bugs or webs is recommended.

Also was the soil very wet when purchased, where u change the soil it should help, and your light level probably better than where it was, mite be best to keep away from other plants for a few days just in case there is any bugs , just keep an eye on the other leaves

It looks like overwatering which can lead to edema and the yellowing showing. You can get overwatering and not initially damage the roots. Water after verifying the soil is dry. Use the watering notifications only as a reminder to check the plants for dryness. Don’t strictly follow a watering schedule. I would try to get the lights closer. Leaves can yellow and die off from insufficient light. The top of the plant is 1.5 feet away. The lower leaves are more distant where the light is less effective. 🪴🍀
