Very sad story here unfortunately I planted these hydrangeas less than a week ago and I’ve already managed to kill them 😭 I was scared of overwatering them that I severely underwatered and they turned into this within one day. Any tips?? I’m really having a hard time gauging how to tell the amount of water to give my plants. I know I’m supposed to dig in and feel with my finger but is there a ballpark amount I’m supposed to water them? Helpp !

I don’t know anything about hydrangeas but typically and under watered plant is much easier to save than an over watered plant.

For a new plant, watering once every two to three days helps to get it established. Established plants can often live on rainwater alone (but appreciate water on especially hot days.) It's been a relatively hot summer this year, so it'd be fine to water once a day (or even twice a day sometimes), especially for any plants that visibly struggle with it. Yours can still be saved; it's just very thirsty. As for amount of water, be thorough. A plant of that size would want a third or half a common watering can or 7-10 seconds of water from a hose/spray. Stop before the ground turns to a muddy slurry, but otherwise don't be afraid to get it wet

They thrive if you overwater them, so don’t be afraid to go all out!
