Hi, plant newbie here! I planted this zahara yellow zinnia two weeks ago and it now has holes in the leaves. Plants says it’s snails but I haven’t see. A single one. Any tips or suggestions? Thanks!

I don’t know if it’s snail damage or not, but the first thing I would do is to put out some animal safe snail bait; it works really well! Also, check carefully to see if you notice any kind of small bugs or caterpillars that might be eating your plant. Good luck.😊💚🪴

Snails and slugs are nocturnal so you won’t see them. You can lay out some beer in low trays at night and the snails will drink it and get drunk then you collect and dispose in the morning

I think zinnias are a magnet for pests and fungus. Their leaves start to deteriorate shortly after they bloom. I agree with the suggestion of using a shallow saucer of leftover beer to attract slugs and snails. A fungicide can help with black spots and mildew.
