Ok does anyone know what this brown is around the base of my cactus? I tried doing some research to see if it was diseased or if it was corking… I’m not sure.. any suggestions would be much appreciated thank you!!

Can you share more about the circumstances? How often watering, is there a smell, how much light does it get etc

It’s under grow lights 12hr a day, I actually just bought the plant a month ago and unfortunately it did already have this. But I water my cacti about once a month

That is hopeful. I would have a look at the roots and see if they are still healthy, it looks like the bottom half is a goner at first glance unfortunately if it’s overwatering

You can cut the good part on top off and put in dry soil. Anyone can correct me if I’m wrong :) but I’ve had success with it.
