Hi everyone! I posted on here a few days ago about my Monstera’s leaves curling in and yellowing. I figured out it’s probably over watering, so I went to look for root rot, there definitely was rot! I have trimmed up the dead bits but as this is my first monstera I don’t know if these roots are salvageable. Any tips on how to heal her past this would be greatly appreciated!!

Have you cleaned off the roots? It’s hard to tell fully what is just soil and what is rot. Rinse off the roots and sanitize them. The rotted ones will naturally fall off in the process. If they are mushy and brown then they are gone. If they are firm and white, they are good roots.

^^ yes clean off all of the bad roots by rinsing the roots under a faucet (could be in a sink, bathtub, outside hose if youre in a warm climate, etc). then you’ll want your plant to regrow roots again before repotting. so what i do is place the plant in a jar/bowl/pitcher of water for a few weeks as if im propagating it. then once i see healthy root growth, i plant it into a smaller pot to allow for root binding to occur (especially for plants like monsteras who prefer having a tight af root ball). in the smaller pot your plant may need supports, you can use literally anything that helps it from not breaking lol: a chopstick, a ruler, a drumstick, leaning it on a chair/wall, etc. i hope this helps!!
