It cannot see the end of the worm well but it could possible be a grub worm. I remove them from my garden by dropping them in some watery soap or feed them to birds. From my recollection they eat/destroy the roots of plants.

Kill it with fire. 😁 Seriously! They are the larvae stages of beetles. They will eat beige crop circles into your lawn. They eat the roots of plants. Squirrels, ducks, deer, and other woodland creatures will dig pock marks into your pots, garden and lawn hunting them as food. Lawn care centers have products to put on the ground at the edge of the crop circles or in the gardens to eradicate them. They spread quickly. 🪴🍀
