So I accidentally overwatered my favorite plant :( and now it’s all droopy and sad this was probably two weeks ago that it happened so I haven’t watered it since bc the soil was still kinda wet. Today I woke up to this so I decided to repot it with dry soil. I put some rocks in the bottom and then the dry soil on top with a little bit of the old wet soil on top. I did also water it just a tiny bit. Is there anything else I should do ?

When you repotted it how many roots were left? The main issue with overwatering is root rot. He may not have many roots left, and may require a smaller pot.

The roots looked very healthy actually all white I didn’t see any rot and they all seemed to be intact

That’s good then. You probably caught it just in time.

I would not place rocks inside the bottom of the pot. The water can still pool allowing the roots to tap into it and cause root rot. I would use a soil with lots of perlite for improved drainage. I would choose a pot with excellent drainage meaning more drainage holes. You can put the plant in a clear plastic nursery pot which typically has lots of drain holes. I would use the ceramic pot has an outer pot. I would remove the plastic pot to water and fully drain it before placing it back inside the ceramic pot. I would increase the air circulation around the plant to help dry the plant faster. I would remove all of the old soil in case you are carrying over bacterial or fungus to the new soil. I would rinse the entire root system and pot to disinfect any areas that are not obviously infected. It’s a safety measure. I would give the plant more light or longer hours exposed to light. Healthy plants use up more water which helps the soil dry out faster. 🪴🍀
