🆘 Infestation!!! HELP - plant gurus wanted! I am a beginner and may be a little in over my head right now 😭 I picked up this Dwarf Jasmine Tree plant from Home Depot some fourish days ago. I’ve repotted it, given it plant food, some nice light, and a couple waterings. It looks nice and seems to have adjusted well, but I’ve noticed these greenish/blackish pests, small white specks, and white chalky residue on the leaves. I consulted Planta AI and it identified the problem as “aphids.” I’ve tried to take off as many pests and as much white residue as possible with a wet paper towel and a little dish soap. As per Planta’s advice, I’ve also doused it in Neem oil. These pictures are after all of my efforts. Should I go on a pruning spree on the clusters of flowering buds, where they seem to congregate the most? Is this plant a lost cause? My pothos is doing well, my periwinkles are doing okay, but me and Jazzy, WE ARE IN PERIL!!!

If you have aphids get some ladybug larvae to hunt them down

Exactly what I was going to say that’s a lady bug smorgasbord.

I literally found a wild ladybug yesterday and plopped her right on there!

If they are aphids, they are not too difficult to kill, but because they multiply very quickly you’ll have to treat the plant for days in a row. You can physically remove them with a spray of the hose or shower head. Then use a weak mix of mild dish soap or alcohol and neem and carefully spray your plant. Look online for the proportions to use. The soap suffocates and kills them. The alcohol dries them and kills them quickly. The neem will eventually kill them, but it’s not instantaneous. Diatomaceous earth will also kill them quickly too. The lady bug larvae will eat up the aphids. You can buy larvae online from places like NaturesGoodguys.com. Great place to buy beneficial bugs. You got this! Your plant is not a loss cause if it’s aphids. Just be persistent.
