Hi everyone. I am having some trouble with my Calathea. I think I let her get too much direct sun. The AI says it’s overwatering, but the leaves aren’t yellow they got crispy on the edges. I’ve moved her to a place with more indirect light but I’d love other suggestions if that seems wrong. Thanks!!

Could be the sun indirect light is good. if you use tap water that can damage them it will get crispy and have a wrinkly looking texture. If that’s the case you can use filtered water, aquarium water conditioner in the tap water or rain water. I use the water conditioner and my fussy plants are doing much better. Humidity could also be a problem mine are at about 50-60% I started using pebble trays for some humidity. Good luck with the drama queen of the plant world! 😅

Don’t worry I was lured by a Dottie. Saw a pink plant at the checkout counter grabbed it not knowing what I was getting myself into and almost killed her! she’s on the mend though 😂

Calatheas are difficult. I know when I did have them I used distilled water for watering as we have very hard water where I live and it made the leaves crispy. Also put it near a humidifier as this plant loves humidity.

Ok sounds like I need an alternative to tap water.
