okay so apparently my plants have mealy bugs, not thrips. does that make a difference in treatment?? [pic of fave plant for plant tax]

    Mealybugs can be treated with isopropyl/rubbing alcohol on a q-tip. Avoid touching the soil with the alcohol, and simply place the q-tip right onto the bug to get it off the plant. Thrips, on the other hand, might be better treated with insecticidal soap. Hope this helps.

      straight isopropyl or diluted?

      Straight isopropyl. It should be fine not diluted since you’re only soaking enough for a q-tip.
