I’m terrified to ask what the hell this bug is, found on the underside of my daisy’s leaves.. with these oval scales?? just seen two so far.. one flew off my plant before I could kill it.. I’m hoping best case senario whiteflies, and worse thrips

I would begin treating for thrips/mealy bugs. I use: • 2 cups of water • 2 tablespoons of neem oil • 1 tablespoon of peppermint Castile soap • 1 teaspoon of isopropyl alcohol Rub that all over the leafs and stems but especially around the back side with a microfiber cloth. If you live in a super sunny area, I would apply it in the afternoon/evening.

1 likeI’ve heard neem oil can scorch leaves when it’s too sunny; i’ve never had this experience personally — just something to be aware of. It’s also a great way to clean leaves. Obviously, don’t spray anything that’s flowering — leaves only.
1 likeI think neem scorched my croton a bit under my grow light 😭 Never neeming with the lights on eeeever again
0 likesAbsolutely, I put Neem oil on a monstera that I forgot outside for a few hours. I came back to black leaves.

0 likesI don’t know what whiteflies look like but it does kind of look like yellow thrips. Just a guess though!
