Help! I just got this variegated Alocasia Odora two days ago. I took it home, watered it because the soil was dry, and I have it in a nice spot with lots of bright indirect light and good humidity (50-60%). This morning, I found that the variegated part of this leaf (on the right) was dry and crispy. Is this just shock from the move or is something wrong? It only has two leaves and seems very fragile, any advice is welcome!

make sure your plant baby is getting a lot of humidity! i’d recommend covering it with a plastic lid or anything that will fit to trap some moisture in there until it starts to bounce back! unfortunately the scorched leaf will die off but your other leaves should survive

Thank you for the advice! I covered it as you suggested and gave it more stable (indirect) light. Should I trim back the dying leaf or let it wilt on its own?

i would cut it off to prevent any sort of rot/infection :)

The white variegation on these leaves are VERY sensitive. Humidity (like prior person said). I have been using silica added to watering to stabilize those white variegation spots. They will be the first to look bad when the plant is stressed.

Thanks! I’ll look into some silica, that sounds like a good idea. The stems are also mostly white so extra stability would be useful I think
