Another fight with aphids and a few ants! The last 3 sets of aphids were orange. These are black. I wiped them off my Hoya Filiformis with an isopropyl alcohol solution. I’m so tired! 🫩😫

Are ants harmful to Hoya? One of my is covered with them but I thought they might be helping the plant with something. Should I try to get rid of them?

These ants probably brought the aphids onto my plants. They farm aphids. They collect the nectar the aphids produce and protect them from predators. They also move them to the tender new growth. The ants have also cut off the flowers on some hoya peduncles. So, I remove them from my plants. I don’t want to carry a nest of ants back into the house in winter.
