Please help. Are the spiders and eggs harmful to my mint? Do I need to get rid of them? Suggestions? There are about 6 four to five inch webs.

Skye 🌿If you’re sure they’re spider sacs, please don’t rid them! As an avid spider owner, they can only do wonders for you. They rid the plant of pests and as the eggs hatch they will eat the smallest of pests, then move on to their own territories, they won’t web your plants up like Spider-Man hehe. Probably one of the best critters you can have in your garden is a spider ❤️🕸️

As an addition, if you really don’t want them on your mint and you’re not an arachnophobe, you can take a paintbrush and gently brush to remove the webs and replace the sacs into another tree or bush, you definitely want them as pest control! ☺️

😅 Whew. I’m so glad you replied. I’m partial to mommies and their babies so I did not destroy the webs, the mommy, or the eggs even though my landscaper said to. You’re wonderful!🥇

That’s so wonderful to hear! One day soon all the sacs will be empty and dry and ready to brush off, and you’ll know that you helped your whole garden with a fleet of tiny spiders! 😍
