Can anyone tell me what this bug on my Rosemary plant might be? First time I’ve seen anything like this. It’s about 1/4” long. I haven’t noticed any damage to my plants, and I didn’t want to kill it outright in case it’s something beneficial that eats the bad critters.

    Yes, Phaneroptera nana (Mediterranean katydid) can be harmful to plants, particularly when present in large numbers or in agricultural settings. While minor feeding is usually insignificant, they are considered pests that feed on young foliage, flowers, and fruit, notably in pear orchards where they damage fruit before harvest. I see them all the time on my plants. They've never done a whole lot of damage. I just flick them off. 🤷‍♀️
