My calathea started browning, crisping, and yellow spotting. Even when there is a new leaf growing, it already starts to brown and crisp. Wondering what is causing it and how I can prevent this.

Do you water it with filtered or distilled water? What is the humidity in your house? Tap water and low humidity are the most common causes of browning tips with prayer plants

They are drama queens. They like consistent moisture, don’t let them dry out but also don’t overwater. Use distilled water only, high humidity and not too much direct light.

Same with what everyone else said. I have mine placed by a humidifier and it’s doing better. Definitely use distilled water I had the same issue before I switched over to it. I do fertilize it too but not too often because these plants just feel so sensitive.
