This paddle jade plant is sun scorched I think or over watered one. I don’t know. But it’s lost alot of leaves. Can i cut the stem and bury it to propagate new growth or should i just give up? Any suggestions? My diffenbachia has the same problem. Should i move them both back inside off the patio? It gets full sun for the afternoon but not the whole day.
definitely move back inside. thin-leaved plants like dieffinbachia 100% cannot handle afternoon sun. your jade can be trained to sit outside, but acclimating a plant to so much light takes weeks.

I agree with the other commenter, especially for the dieffenbachia. They usually like bright indirect light rather than getting full-on sun for more than a few hours. If you have a bright corner that the sun doesn't touch directly, I would pop it there. I unfortunately dont have much advice for the jade, I've never raised one. Good luck!.

There are two types of Kalanchoe Paddle plants. One grows differently from the other. One can get very leggy and can be cut back to the ground. Nearly impossible to tell the difference though and very often mislabeled. I was just researching them last week because mine was suffering from underwatering and losing bottom leaves. Pic is what I repotted last week. It previously was a beautiful fully leafed plant. So I would give it a go. Chop it back to see what happens.
An FYI they are Kalanchoe not jades.
