Hello guys I need some help please, today I realized these woodish looking marks/damage on my White Princess Philodendron mother plant, just wondering what the cause may be and how I can avoid it from happening anymore.. think it may be stress from being strapped to the wooden stick. Removing the ties and mounting it on a sphagnum moss pole. Update, after putting in a pot with a moss pole these marks have continued to get worse, now going up to the petioles on the leaves even up to the top.. Someone please tell me how to fix this.. I’d need be im totally willing to chop it up and make propagations and then retry, I just don’t want to fully loose my White Princess mother plant ); I do find it weird though, cause if that was pest damage I would assume it would be in shock and not pushing out new leaves.? It is currently unfurling a new leaf.

It’s normal and not damage to be concerned about.? 😭 it looks like the stem is deteriorating or turning to wood, I’ve never seen this before, but I’ve also never had a climbing Philodendron. I’ve never seen this with any of my vining Philos. 🤷🏼‍♂️
