I have a majesty palm that’s struggling. I repotted from the nursery pot five weeks ago and it’s been mostly unhealthy. I’ve watered, but didn’t think too much. The top of the soil is dry and crumbly but the bottom is still moist and the fronds rapidly turned. I think it’s too wet, but how do I fix?

Does the pot have drainage? If not, that’s probably your problem. If yes, the soil is probably retaining moisture too long which can rot the roots. Need to take it out of the soil and check for root rot, cut off any dead and dying roots. Then change the soil to something with more drainage, you can add perlite to potting mix which will make it not hold water as long and prevent the roots from rotting.

So I picked up some majestic palms not that long ago. So there are Ph levels , magnesium and calcium feeds these palm trees (plants). Side note palm trees aren’t necessarily trees but big plants, Majesty or also majestic palm trees are usually ornamental in houses because they hate staying in the pot . (Dwarf plant) (Ravenea rivularis) loves ideal temps from 61-83 degrees and direct sunlight, I picked up a few from home depo that were on sale due to root rot and pests, Easy fix! 1. Buy high grade soil 2. Buy fertilizer meant for ph levels , calcium and magnesium best, 3. Grab your plant and lay it down on the floor or table to slide the plastic cover side to side off the plant. Once the cover is off, you are going to want to wash ALL the soil off the roots … tease and massage the roots if they formed around the bottom pot. Massage and rub the roots gently to take off existing gunk and goo stuck on the plant. Once all soil is off the root, you will know if you did it right if there is dark shade in roots. Just simply Massage it out, You are going to want to spray half soluble of water 50/50 hydrogen peroxide. On to roots so it can clean any fungal, Hydrogen peroxide and water soluble is only to use as is and not daily , as for the only purpose is to save and treat the sickness. Finally once you massaged the roots from soil, grab your new soil and washed container for your new pot and simply add re pot the plant . On the top layer grab a 1 and 1/2 tbsp of preferably bone marrow fertilizer and calcium from homedepot, sprinkle it on top and cover with soil. WHEN YOu POT YOUR PLANT Make sure to look out for compacting the soil , Let the soil drip down evenly around the sides as you go clockwise dropping soil, and don’t , do not press down to compact the plant snug, Don’t over water, You know when you need to water when the top is dry but not crusty, Only water to the top with a soft watering system, / I saved some majestic plants that look like straight rotten banana peels, Cleaned , Repotted and cut off the gold, put it in new soil or floor. Next day was green and thriving . You can save the palm tree before it turns all gold by
