What can I do to help hydrate her? She is a Walmart rescue! I’ve had her for 3 weeks or so now. I cut off her shoots today since one was dying and the other was long and lanky with no blooms and watered her very thoroughly. She’s wrinkled and very thin and floppy. Is watering her more frequently the only bet I have to help her?

Next watering session you might give her a ten minute bottom-watering soak. Otherwise just keep up a healthy water schedule and she should recover in a few weeks. Watch for root rot in case you accidentally overcorrect

That seems like a phalaenopsis orchid to me? If that’s the case then just keep the regular watering. They love being planted in just plain orchid bark as well. Misting the leaves could help along with more frequent watering, but just make sure no water gets in the crown (the divot where the two leaves meet) because it’ll rot. I hope this helps! Mine wrinkles a little sometimes (and even brown) when I just can’t get to it from being sick, but it always bounces back. I’ll water it with warmed, filtered water every three days. As the process goes on, I’ll bring it back to its normal schedule. You can do this! ❤️ Just to summarize: - Frequent and regular watering - Misting without letting water get in the crown -Orchid bark will work amazingly I hope this helps!

Unfortunately, I’ve never been able to plump wrinkly orchid leaves up again. Only water when the roots are silver, make sure the roots stay healthy with lots of air flow and it’ll grow new leaves and roots. You were right to cut the spikes so it could focus on these instead of flowering. Repot in orchid bark since the medium looks really wet and you don’t know how long it’s been in it. I prefer the small/medium sized chips. They love bright indirect light, so keep with that, let it dry out fully before watering. I’ve had the most success by fully submerging the roots in lukewarm water for a few minutes, and use liquid orchid fertilizer once a month. I haven’t found that misting is helpful to be honest.
