This is my second Prayer plant and I’m having the same issues! Initially thought thrips, treated well with neem oil (wiping leaves, spraying soil) preventing fungus with baking soda and I just can’t seem to get her comfortable anymore. Everything was going so well until about 2 months ago. The plant has lots of indirect natural sun light. I appreciate the uk is getting colder and darker but the temp never drops inside below 16/17 degrees c. Any suggestions of help is appreciated

This had bugs a few months ago but haven’t seen any in a few weeks so think the treatment worked- obviously the plant hates me for it 😭

I'm down to one leaf... little by little leaves started to crisp. It was in water so I thought maybe if I gave it some soil... but no, it just kept going downhill. I'm researching right now if they survive with one leaf! 😢 😭

Neem oil can burn your plants. Especially if you apply it in the morning, and light shines on it. If i use neem, I let it sit for 20-40 mins, then rinse off. And don't put the plant under light until the sunset gone down (or i turn the grow light off)

The marantaceae family (which include prayer plants, stromanthe, calathea, and ctenanthe) is notoriously picky about the kind of water you use. Judging by the white stuff on the top of the soil, your water may be too hard for the plant. If possible, you can either change the soil and start over and only use distilled or rain water (this is the best option) OR you can flush the pot for 5 minutes and hope you can rinse out all the minerals and chlorine it’s collected. The tips are burning because the plant is trying to purge itself of all of the stuff that makes tap water safe for our consumption.

This is really helpfull! She can have kettle water now the lil princess! The stuff in the soil is actually “lava-lite” no gnats bug treatment to kill off any bugs breeding in the soil so it’s not as bad as it looks! But still in a hard water area so I’ll be mindful
