Hey guys! ☺️ So I recently noticed mealy bugs on one of my plants… | Pests, diseases and problems | Planta-fellesskap

Hey guys! ☺️ So I recently noticed mealy bugs on one of my plants which prompted me to thoroughly check all of my others… I noticed the furry spots on my philodendron’s stem, which I figured was mealy bugs, but I also noticed very tiny egg-like dots on top of the leaves, and underneath, there were some more tiny dots around the same size, but some were crawling. (Wish I could post a video so y’all could see their speed.) Are these mealy bug related or does the plant have a mealy bug problem + something else going on? Thanks in advance! (This is my first time dealing with pests, so I’m kinda panicking lol)

It’s hard to see. The fluffy ones could be mealybugs and their nests. The yellow/orange one could be the juvenile mealybugs or aphids. They are too blurry to tell. 🪴🍀

Already treated the leaves, so I can’t get more pictures. 😕

I would check or even replace the soil. Mealy bugs and pests can live in the soil/root system and with this much of an infestation on the plant it’s possible. Anytime I have an issue I strip the plant down and spray it down from root to tip, I use Paige’s sexy plant juice. Better safe than sorry!

After I posted this, I found thrips on a couple of my plants. 😫 I bought Bonide’s systemic granules to treat the soil, along with their insecticidal soap spray and Captain Jack’s insecticide and mite killer. I’m determined to get rid of all the things! 😆
