Hey guys! I noticed an issue with my basil today. It’s been growing like a weed, but it looks rotten from the bottom. What happened? Can it be fixed?

    Too much water maybe?

      That’s what I wondered, but I’ve been gone for a while and haven’t watered it besides the rain. Last two days I’ve been back we’ve been in a heat wave and I watered it yesterday morning and this morning I checked it and it was bone dry.

    I have had rain lately, too, and mine has had black and slimy leaves toward the bottom. I just pinched them off and they’ve been ok. I have noticed that they are much healthier when I clip the tops of them-they grow bushy instead of tall.

    Basil seems to be pretty forgiving.

      Yeah it’s one of my lowest maintenance plants. Hopefully it forgives me this time lol. Maybe it was mad I left it

    Looks like it’s bolting. Not sure about the bottom though.
