So I am visiting my mom’s house and she’s recently propagated and planted these monstera babies. Clearly, they are upset. She rooted them in water and removed the water from them four about 24 hours so they were sitting in empty propagation jars (she meant to plant them and then something came up so they were left without water) Now that she’s potted them, they are losing leaves, turning yellow and brown, and are drooping. Does anyone have a solution? They are watered once a week. Is the best thing to do just cut them above the lowest node and wait for them to slowly grow new leaves?

Rather than a direct transition from water to soil, have her repot them in a a semi-hydroponic medium! Plants grow different types of roots for water/dirt, sometimes the shock of transition can cause the leaves to brown!

Also, tropical plants like monsteras need looser soil to help get air/oxygen to their roots! And they prefer to be semi-root bound so a smaller pot might be good as well!
