Hi everyone! I am a very new plant owner (within the last few months) and I’ve noticed a problem with small bugs around my apartment. The plants that I have are: - anthurium - ponytail palm - pothos - striped dracaena I just bought neem oil and sprayed the leaves and the top soil. Should I repot them with new soil and clean the roots? This is all VERY new to me and I would appreciate any advice!!

Often pests are in the top 1-3in of soil.. I recommend lightly stirring up the top soil when you are coating it in your pest solution. I like using 70% isopropyl alcohol no dilution in a spray bottle and just go to town on the leaves front and back, stems and soil… don’t put your plants back in light after that treatment because the leaves can get toasty. Also hydrogen peroxide diluted (1 part to 3-4parts water) and pour that drenching over the top of soil works well too. For my biggest (impossible to move potted plant) I like to do the Isopropyl alcohol no dilution as needed and I coat/stir in diatomaceous earth powder into the top inches of soil thoroughly coating.

The diatomaceous earth powder won’t be very pretty/aesthetically pleasing lol so I put potted plants in the planter to conceal it 😂
