Hello ! This is my friend’s pilea which like they said is drooping and seems to have some discolouration, does anyone know what might be up with it? They told me that they water it every 7 days and it is placed in a windowsill that gets direct sunlight in the mornings. The only thing i can think that might be wrong is that maybe it needs repotting, but i’m not really sure 😅 any help is appreciated, thank you!!

I think you may be providing too much water. Instead of every 7 days, wait until the soil is dry. I use my finger and stick it in the pot to about the second knuckle. If it’s dry, I water. If still damp, I wait a few days. With these, it’s best to be cautious since they develop root rot easily. I think it will rebound Good luck!

Rather than watering on a schedule, I recommend that they check the soil and water based on that. A moisture meter could come in handy. You might be right that it needs to be repotted - if the pot is filling up with roots, then it might be drying out quicker, which would lead to droopy leaves.

It definitely needs repotting. Be sure put it by a window with indirect sunlight. And water when dry, not in a schedule. 😁
