Anyone know what these bugs on my elephant bush could be? They are very tiny and brown, I attached a picture of a q-tip with them on it as a size reference. I don’t see any damage that they are causing as of right now.

It could be spider mites. Check carefully for fine webs. Spider mites eat the outer layers of the leaves as in my photo.

I though that at first too, but spider mites are slightly larger and there’s zero webs anywhere

There’s a couple of different ways you can treat this even if you can’t identify the pest. Neem oil is a common solution, but I also know some use a mixture of apple cider vinegar, dish soap, and water, and place it in a spray bottle to spray on the leaves and wipe the leaves down. Isopropyl alcohol is also a great solution you can put on a q-tip and carefully wipe the leaves off with the q-tip to kill the bugs on your plant. If they’re not seemingly damaging anything, you might’ve caught them early on, which is great, but it’s always a good idea to check the roots. If you find any bugs in the soil, eggs/larvae, or root rot, or even just to be extra precautious, you can dilute some 3% hydrogen peroxide with water and soak the soil or use that to water your plant. Peroxide kills any eggs/larvae and is great for treating root rot. Soaking the roots completely with the peroxide and water solution and repotting with new, dry soil, then bottom watering from now on is definitely the safest way to ensure the bugs don’t come back, along with sticky traps. Hope this helps! Good luck!
