Help! I bought my new allocasia from Aldi about 1-2 weeks ago. She has a lot of new growth, but also had a few bad leaves that I cut off. The last leaf turned yellow and mushy and I cut it off but that one was already yellow when I bought it. Now, im noticing small dry brown patches. Does anyone know why and what I should do to help prevent them from getting bigger?
I’m not sure about the brown patches, maybe a type of fungal issue? Definitely keep it separate from your other plants. With the mushy leaves that usually means it been over watered, make sure it’s not in soggy soil, has good drainage holes, and the top few inches of soil are completely dry before watering, depending of weather usually about 2 weeks but always check the soil. Places like Aldi will usually use really compact soil, alocasia’s need chunky, well draining mixes so the roots don’t get waterlogged.
