Got this bromeliad from a friend that thought she was killing it because the flowers were turning brown. I have had it for a little while and it's not doing good. I know they like lots of moisture and I mist it a lot but it's still curling the leaves. This is the original pot it came in and I think maybe I should repot it? There is no drain hole so I've been really careful about watering it but I'm at a loss as to what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Bromelaids only flower once during their lifespan however the flowers actually last for a good portion of time. Generally 3 to 6 months. Plus, once it's finished blooming, it signals that its "pups"—or little bromeliad suckers—are on their way. Once the flower finishes blooming, you'll want to remove them. This tells the bromeliad to begin focusing more energy on its pups.

Yes I did read they only bloom once just didn't know if the rest of the mama plant dies too or if I'm doing something wrong. Should I cut the flower now? Thanks for the info

Yes you can remove the flowers. Keep up with the watering and misting as you have done. Fingers crossed you’ll get new plants developing. You said you don’t have drainage in the pot so make sure it doesn’t get too soggy.

Thanks. I am very careful when I water but I think I will repot them in a pot with drainage just don't want to stress it to much.
