My Thai con has been drooping lately and the soil was staying wet despite me not watering in at least 2 weeks. I recently repotted from a black nursery pot to a clear one but I up sized. I went to move her to a different area incase she just wasn’t happy where she was and I noticed her roots were black. I lost almost all her roots to rot. I downsized her pot what do you think she can recover?
Absolutely it can recover but fyi, the white “roots” are actually the cores of root that rotted. They won’t bring anything to your monstera. Make sure you keep on the drier side with well draining soil moving forward. Give it plenty of light so it recovers 😊🌱

Absolutely she can recover! And lesson learned. Sizing up too big means the plant can’t absorb all the moisture so soil stays wetter longer and that causes root rot. By downsizing and getting rid of rotted roots, you are giving her a 2nd chance!
좋아요 1개 I hope she makes it. And yes lesson learned. As expected I guess because I am new to all this. I did a bunch of reading about the soil but not enough about the pot sizes. I’m so happy I put her in the clear nursery pot because I would have never seen those roots
3개 좋아요Clear pots are the way forever and always gotta make sure those roots are healthy. I’d recommend if you can and haven’t already get that thai con a humidifier and a grow light that will help improve its conditions so it can recover more quickly.
