My corn plant is 50 years old if you can believe that! (I’m bragging!) I would guess that your baby might not be getting enough water. I let mine get dry before I water it, but I’ve noticed that if I use the stake method to test for moisture, that I have ended up with dried tips. See what others will tell you. Good luck!

I use a water gauge and when it tells me that my corn plant is “dry+”, then I go ahead and use the stake method to see if she’s really dry. But I have found out if I err on the side of really, really dry, then her leaf tips start to brown. So you want your corn plant to dry out, if she’s like mine, you don’t want her to get bone, bone dry. I hope that is clear as mine. If not, ask me some more questions. OK? Good luck!

hi lynda! I just received a corn plant that is looking a bit rough (cat scratches and no bottom leaves but very tall) any advice on general care and how I can make her look pretty again?

There is no way I know of to regenerate lower leaves on the bottom of corn plants, however, I found that I could top my corn plant, and then replant the cut-off piece of stem next to the naked stem. I have done this several times, and I’ve had the good fortune to have other stems regrow! You now can have another stem that will grow new leaves to cover the bottom of your other naked stem. The best part is that you can do this several times, and therefore end up with a very full corn plant, with several lovely stems, and lots of leaves. Text me with more questions, if you have any. Good luck, and happy corn planting! 🤗💚🪴
