I have been advised by planta that I have thrips! This specific plant I have tossed, but essentially ALL of my other plants also have signs of egg laying on a leaf or three. I have washed them with a bronner’s soap solution, and am planning to dust the soil with diatomaceous earth, and use a proper insecticidal soap. Has anyone conquered a thrips infestation?
It’s manageable! Unfortunately I can’t confirm whether I got rid of it completely - a few months later I either had a reintroduction or they were hiding somehow… but the second time I recognized them much more easily, dealt with them swiftly and probably went to more extreme measures than I needed to… but I haven’t seen any since (couple months now). I didn’t use any diatomaceous earth… that’s going on my holiday wishlist lol! Anyway, they may be frustrating but they aren’t impossible!
