What am I doing wrong?!? This is from my grandpas funeral, so really trying. I have many other plants but this one just seems to dislike me. Keeps getting crunchy brown spots, gets full light, and watered per apps recommendations. The leaves are mushy, and never firm after watering. Roots look fantastic (checked for rot) so I really can’t figure it out. I’ve taken some cuttings incase I can’t save this but it’s about 4gt tall and braided. It’s beautiful, I’d like to find a way to save it.

    Don’t strictly water on the app’s schedule, you should use it as a reminder to check if it needs it or not. So it could be over/under-watered. Sometimes this app has glitches. Mine like to dry out 80-90% before I water. If it’s full direct sun, that could be too harsh and you might need to filter the light, or move it so it’s more protected. I have all mine in a west window, and pull sheer curtains when it’s really hot out.

    I had one near a west facing window and it did get sunburn like this. I left the leaf on for photosynthesis and moved the plant outside; it gets morning sun and it’s thriving, 3 feet tall and throwing out pink leaves now! Good luck 🍀

    I don’t know, but this what I do with mine and it is doing great. Mine is about 3 feet from an east window to get morning sun. I water about every 2 weeks. I mist it about 2x per week. I put a little liquid fertilizer in the water 1x per month. You might pull it out of the pot and look at the roots. May need new soil/ repotting.

      Also …these don’t like temperature changes. If you had a couple days inconsistent temperatures it will do things like this.
