I have two lemongrasses and ones doing way better than the other even though they’re right next to each other. The only difference is that my dog eats the one that’s healthier. Is there anything I should be doing to help the less healthy one?

  1. Yup

Get a dog repellent plant if to want your dog to stop eating it so that the plant can recuperate from the damage

Thank you for the advice but the one my dog eats is the healthier looking one, she avoids eating the less healthy one.

Consistent moisture but not soggy, nitrogen rich fertilizer regularly, bring inside when it’s cold, pruning is crucial (best to remove damaged or old stocks and to give it trims) , look out for fungal infections or tiny black aphids

Both plants look under watered, under fertilized and under stress. Lemongrass looks a lot healthier. They should have broad green leaves with few dry or yellowing stems. I bought my plant last year at the end of season clearance. It was in a 1 gallon container. The photos show the grow pattern after a month. My advice is to elevate the plants away from pets who are chewing off the healthy leaves which harms the growth. Give them full direct sunlight at least 8 hours a day. Fertilize regularly. Water when the soil is mostly dry. The leaves will look limp when it needs water. 🪴🍀

No problem. It’s trial and error, mostly, trying to figure out the best care for a plant. 😁

Ive watered them, fertilized them and trimmed dead leaves and they look much better already!

They look much better seeing more of the leaves. Be sure to remove all the extra dead leaves and weeds on the soil. The decaying vegetation stays moist after watering and attracts fungus gnats.
