Okay uh, this is my first plant I bought online, here from Planta. Wtf is this stringy stuff they packed it with? Or are they roots? I don't want to cut something on accident but I literally can't find a way to get it off without cutting it LOL
That is packaging to hold the dirt in. Usually it can be unraveled or pulled off. If not just cut carefully away.

Biodegradable packing materials. It usually has packing tape holding it down. Cut it off. It’s not ment to remain in place. It can eventually slow evaporation of the water in the soil.
