Hello! I am a semi-new bamboo palm owner of “Zoro” (if you know One Piece, ;) you’ll get it) and as of a few weeks ago, the leaves have been dying off, new stems have been growing weaker and some not even making it past an inch long before browning, and we have noticed some mealy bugs. Any tips! We are desperately trying to save him. Thank you!

It’s most likely the mealy bugs getting to your plant. Spray some insecticides/get rid of the mealy bugs (make sure to spray a little in the soil).

I was reading somewhere that using pesticides to kill the mealy bugs can also kill the bamboo tree, we were targeting each bug we saw with an alcohol swab and it had not damaged any leaves, but of course there are probably eggs and other mealys roaming around that we don’t see.
