I’m pretty sure this basket I got around Christmas has become a mealy bug haven. There are several plants in it, and I’m not sure how to proceed. I’ve been killing all the adults I can find with alcohol, but I’m thinking I need to I unpot and separate this, clean up the roots, and repot the various plants in their own containers. I’m pretty new to all this, so any advice would be appreciated. How would you go about saving these plants? Thank you in advance!

The plants are already stressed, maybe overwatered, allowing the mealy bugs to take over. I would wait to repot and start by spraying the leaves with isopropyl alcohol, it kills the mealy bugs on contact and after a few treatments you can wash the leaves without getting the soil any wetter. Keep an eye out for more mealy bugs and repeat, avoiding overwatering. If you want to go next level, get a systemic treatment from a garden center and sprinkle the soil lightly every couple of months to keep them at bay.

Hey there - these plants have different needs. I’d separate them out and repot. Then treat them individually.
