How can I get this snake plant healthy again? It’s on my front porch, it gets indirect light there. I did water her very sparingly in the past, but the leaves didn’t look dry, they looked wilted. I cut them and now watering her once a week.

if there is green there is something to save! it looks like it needs a smaller pot. i'd recommend a 4 inch for something like this. remember that snake plants are typically slow-growers.

Will the smaller pot make a difference?

Yes it makes a big difference. When there’s too much extra soil in the pot it holds onto water and causes root rot. That pot should be 1-2 inches larger in diameter than the roots

yes. if there is too much soil and not enough roots, root rot is incredibly more likely. also, when the roots fill the pot better, it encourages leaf growth.

Once a week is way too often. Mine are almost every three weeks. And you do not water sparingly. It should be a drenching till entire pot of soil is wet and draining from bottom hole. This after repotting into smaller planter.

Thank you so much! It’s crazy that the app recommends once weekly. Makes me wonder how many other plans I’m watering incorrectly

That’s weird because mine is scheduled thru the app for weeks in between waterings. Maybe check your plant stats you entered into the app just in case.
