My heart leaf philodendron is struggling—it has yellow leaves and all the leaves have red streaks in them are curling. Is it overwatering, under watering, or something else completely?

Is there root rot? Doesn’t look like pot has a hole. If you’re watering too much it will cause rot the soil is too moist. I water my philodendron brasil about every 2 weeks. And my moonlight gets about 2.5 weeks. I live in California.

Looks to be overwatered. Theyre super hearty though, you can trim those leaves off as well as any rotted roots and re-root her in a much smaller pot that has drainage or even a vase of water with a little root hormone tossed in. She’ll come right back.
2개 좋아요I agree with the other comments - yellow leaves usually means it’s overwatered. Looks like the pot might be too large which can keep the soil wet for too long. I would chop and prop
3개 좋아요It looks like you used to have it in a terracotta pot when it first started yellowing. That pot might have been too big and holding too much water. But terracotta dries out WAY faster than glazed ceramic so switching to the bigger glazed pot probably ended up exasperating the problem. I would dump it out and see the root situation. If the stem and roots aren’t mushy, I would move it back into a terracotta pot. Either smaller, or just put less dirt. Then water less often. My brasil (I believe that’s what yours is) that is about that size is in a 3” pot. It’s also a younger plant and is still recovering from getting super unhealthy in a store. So yours might need bigger than mine. You could also cut the vine and propagate like suggested by others.😊
