hello! i am a new plant owner and i fear i have bought a new plant that maybe a bit more than i can handle. i bought it from the clearance section a lowes which is probably why she looks so sad. if anyone has any advice please share! i repotted her today and also watered her. i believe she is a elephant ear philodendron but i could be wrong. thank you!

    It looks like an Alocasia Wentii and it could be an over watering issue.

      i figured that might be it! how would i go about fixing this? water every two weeks instead of every one week?

      Aim for every 10 days bottom watering until you see that the plant thriving, then go back to once a week for the rest of the summer. Fall and winter should be biweekly watering.

    Make sure it's potted in appropriate soil. I have one that came in some moss (sphagnum plus some other mystery moss) and it stayed absolutely drenched for like two weeks without any watering. It was kind of impressive but my alocasia has been happier with better drainage

    Alocasia prefer a fair amount of humidity. And hate to dry out for long. The browning tips = too low humidity (whether that was pre or post purchase
