My fiddle leaf fig has been dropping leaves. About 4 or 5 leaves have just fell off. I have already cut it because it was getting too tall and it grew out beautifully. I’m worried it’s going to get be bare at the bottom. I’ve had her for about a year (gave to me because they were moving) I’m not sure when it was last repotted but I’m scared to repot since she seems so fragile. Everytime she loses a leaf I die a little inside lol Any thoughts?

I notice these are very sensitive to change. Anything new? Mine dropped 2 leaves because the light from the window changed. Also the soil doesn’t look the best, moss shouldn’t be on top.

It came with the moss! She grew it from a wee little lad! But ugggghhh… I hate you mentioned that because I had it in the corner and by a window and I just recently installed a cat door. So… I was thinking it was the draft. I moved it about 4.5 ft away from the window about 5 days ago. 😫

Ahh, you moved it. That is it! Its stressed. It will continue to lose leaves while it acclimates, unless you can move it back?

::sigh:: but the draft from the cat door….? It lost 4 leaves after I installed it. Moved it a few few as not to stress the princess… and it lost one 2 days after moved. I think you’re right. 😞 what do you think about repotting just to make sure it’s not the roots?

I wouldn’t repot when its stressed. I don’t think the draft would be substantial enough to harm it.
