Hello! I have this elephant bush that I’ve recently saved from the compost pile but it’s occupying every seat on the struggle bus. is it worth saving at this point? I feel like it needs to be repotted because it doesn’t have drainage but I’m afraid of shocking it out of its last breath

Yessss! 😄 Add it to your collection and put it by a sunny window it will and no doubt start blooming soon. I thought I almost lost mine too, but I put it by a sunny window and now it’s growing like crazy.

Awesome! It’s in one of my sunniest windows and I’m following the watering schedule based on this app and I want to re pot it but I’m afraid of the shock

Yeah I would wait on the repot personally. I can’t believe how fast it started growing once I put it in my sunny window. And often I find that the app overwaters plants, but for this elephant bush I feel like it’s pretty much right on time. I mean, the soil is always dry which it should be, it should dry out in between waterings. Good luck, I think it’ll come back for you! 😃

Because it’s struggling so much, I wonder if it has much roots at all. If not, the water amount and even the size of the pot might be too much. Also with no drainage, there is probably water sitting in the bottom it can’t access so that will cause root rot. They are really hardy plants so don’t worry about shocking it when repotting it. I have several so I’ll post later (working now) more info on how to help it and dump out one of mine to show you what you are looking for. Can you also comment with a photo of the front of these leaves? To help identify which variety?
