Help!! I have had this string of dolphins for a while now. It has been getting bright indirect sunlight and I moved it under a grow light for 12 hours a day a few days ago. I have given it succulent food as well. But I don’t know what’s wrong with it. It was all green and fine 4 days ago, and now it looks like this. 🙁 Any advice is appreciated!

    Could you have possibly overwatered?

If you only just moved it to the grow light just give it time — that was the issue. These want lots of light, and need to have well draining soil. So maybe a new pot, too

Does your little pot have drainage? I would cut off the rot, stick the good parts back in well-draining soil after letting the ends callus for a day or 2. They should bounce back. Err on the side of less water/less fertilizer.

It doesn’t have drainage. I just repotted it into a pot with drainage. Should I take it back out and cut it or see how it does in it new pot?

The drainage will help a lot. Let the soil dry up and lets us know how it goes. It doesn’t hurt to pull off rotted parts.

Well I’d say wait a few days and see how it does before cutting it

All the vines that are dead at the top should be cut and propagated, since they can’t pull any water and nutrients

Soil looks really dry. If it were me, I would rehab it by moving it into water to grow new roots and repot it after some time. I have a string of pearls I’ve been growing in water for awhile, very low maintenance.

Okay, so after I cut the green part off, do I just set the tips in water? I don’t want to over water it since it is a succulent

You pull off the dolphins from the first 2-3 inches or so from where you cut the stems, and place it in water. Since the plant currently has no roots, it will modulate how much water it takes in, no chance of overwatering.
