I’ve recently noticed that the tips on my new spider plant that I bought from the shop a couple of weeks ago, appears singed or burnt. They were like this originally but I didn’t notice it until I got it home. Is there anything I can do to help it?
Could be one of the following. Its not in a humid enough area, its in a draft, or it’s drying out to quickly. The humidity can be fixed using a spray bottle, slightly warm water sprayed above it so the water falls down onto the leaves, I doubt it’s in a draft ( if you’re in the UK you know what I mean 😂) and the other is it’s too dry, I’m watering mine every few days now because the heat is drying the soil out too quickly. There is one other reason and that’s if you’ve fertilised it too much, so if you’re feeding it stop.

Mine got like that bc it was sensitive to tap water. I trimmed off the brown bits and switched to distilled and she's doing better.

They won’t regrow the tips once they burn but you can just keep it happy and healthy to prevent future damages like that. Good watering schedule, healthy draining soil, adequate lighting, and decent humidity

0개 좋아요 If you have a waterbutt use the water from there, the plants don’t like the chemicals in tap water. I got proper babies on one of my spider plants since changing the water

0개 좋아요 A water butt is a large barrel container beer keg shape, but made from plastic and massively bigger, it attaches to a down pipe from your gutters so when it rains the rain water is directed straight into there once full the rest of the water will continue down into the ground. If you google water butts it will come up with pictures and prices

It's very common get brown tips on Spider plants, as said elsewhere use distilled water 🫗 or even better rain water if you can get any.
