Can someone help with gnats?? I’m going insane over here. I have 15 house plants and we have 6 lizard enclosures full of plants. For the potted ones I have changed out the soil to a more chunky one that drains better. Clear puts so I can see where we are with moisture, and only watering from the bottom. I use the app for care so I’m not over watering or under watering. We also replace sticky traps everytime we water. Help! lol I’m going crazy!

I’ve been battling them BAD this year. I started using neem cake to make a tea to water ALL my plants with to disrupts the lifecycle. I’ve also gotten some of the indoor flytraps to get the adults. I started about a week ago and so I still am waiting to see how well it works but I am hopeful.

I got some carnivorous plants and they helped immensely with my gnat problem. I have pinguicula and sundew plants. They’re super easy to take care of too

I bought these fruit fly sticky traps on Amazon, and they’ve helped me a ton! Here is what they were called, it doesn’t let me post the link. 96PCS Fruit Fly Sticky Traps, Gnat Traps Insect Trap for Plants Kitchen Indoor and Outdoor

I have been using hydrogen peroxide in my water. I also use the gnat granules on some plants. I have had more success with the peroxide. I also spray with an organic bio insecticide spray every few weeks as prevention from gnats and the other pests. I do bottom water sometimes. And I started mixing my own soil because the soil I get from big box stores tend to hold too much moisture.

I use big leaf energy spray (oil blend) and make my own fungicide with Castile soap and baking soda in distilled water. The combo of those two things sprayed every 2ish weeks on my plants has kept the pests away and I live in the south. Hope this helps! 😊

Yellow sticky traps, bonide systemic houseplant granules & zevo insect traps. I have the same issue and already I am seeing huge reduction in gnats with only one application of the granules. Good luck! I’ve also seen people use mosquito bit tea in addition to granules
