i water my calathea once a week but it is still dying. i’ve moved it from a lot of sunlight to now just partial but it’s still not flourishing. whenever i water it a orange liquid comes out the drainage hole. I repotted it a few months ago thinking it will help but it hasn’t. Does anyone know what’s going on? Please help, new plant mom here!!!

You don’t water according to a time schedule. You should water when the plant needs it. Top half of soil should be dry. So it’s possible you overwatered or underwatered.

Dang I'm sorry 😞 get all the brown leaves out of there. They are dead. That last green leaf i would stick in water for awhile until it gets better. Or use spaghnum moss. Although that last green leaf looks like its yellowing so it may be to late. It happens. I've killed many plants it just happens. I'm sorry.

Yes, I think it might be too late. I agree with the advice of only using filtered water or buy a bottle of fish tank water conditioner and add a few drops before watering.

It’s also important to know that calatheas in particular are very sensitive to the type of water you use. For all my other plants I use regular tap, but my calathea mosaic needs distilled water. They’re a tricky plant in general if you don’t know their preferences. I’m sorry this happened for you ☹️
