Does this look like sunburn? This is the oldest leaf on my syngonium… | Pests, diseases and problems | Planta community

Does this look like sunburn? This is the oldest leaf on my syngonium and I don’t see any other discoloration on the other leaves. It’s pushing out loads of new leaves right now too. I just want to make sure there’s no issue that I’m missing. Thanks for your help!

I don’t really think it is anything to worry about. It may just be part of that leaf. Like you said, that is the oldest leaf, is maybe that is the way this leaf is telling you that.

I’m not sure it’s sunburn. I would expect some sunburn on nearby leaves, as well. Do you regularly fertilize?

I do fertilize per Planta’s suggestion using the Bless Your Soil houseplant fertilizer (12-4-8 formula). It ends up being about every 3 weeks. That leaf is from when the plant was water propagated though. If you think that makes a difference. Thanks for your thoughts!

It’s probably lack of nutrients from water propagation. I fertilize every two weeks in warmer Spring/Summer temperatures with 1/2 strength diluted fertilizer and have my arrowheads in bright indirect light. I have about 12 varieties and they do well.

This is my first syngonium so I’m trying to learn as much about them as I can before I go crazy and add to my plant collection! 😁 I really love how this baby grows and is super easy going. 💚 What is your favorite variety right now? I’ve been really eyeing the milk confetti one…

Milk confetti is beautiful. My favorite for beauty, ease of maintenance and fast growth is the Albo variegatum ‘Marble’ variety! It’s priced a little higher than the common varieties. But, it’s worth it. I like this variety so much that I kept buying them when I found one on sale!😆 I now have four. Bought most of them from Steve’s Leaves online. He sells and packages excellent plants. These have all kinds of variegations on the leaves. The leaf stems are a pink green ombré fade. The vines dangle over a pot with the leaves pointing outwards. I could go on. The pictures shows the 4 plants. I kept 2 in their original 4” pots. They still grow like crazy and I water like crazy. I use diluted blue Miracle Gro and SuperThrive every 2 weeks in warmer weather. They get very bright indirect light on my covered patio.
