Hi everyone! I’m a new plant mom and I could really use some help 🙈🌱 I recently got two Cat Palms, and they’re not looking very healthy. I’m watering them when the top 2 inches of soil feel dry. They’re indoors in my living room and get a few hours of indirect sunlight. I live in North Carolina (in an apartment), and I’m currently using both a heater and a humidifier. I also mist them daily. Could someone please guide me on what I might be doing wrong and how to fix it? I really want to save them 🥺 Thank you in advance!

the pot for this plant seems a bit large. yellowing leaves represents overwatering usually or too much fertilizer. the type of soils does matter too. are you using distilled water only? these plants like that only at room temp. if you’re using tap, the yellowing can be from that too.

I find palms very challenging indoors. Check for spider mites, as they always seem to attract them and make them go downhill.

Misting daily is definitely not the move, especially when you have a humidifier. That’s what I think is causing the yellowing. As far as the tip burn goes how far away are they from a window? If they are getting too much light that might be causing that.

honestly i mist mine every day and still use a humidifier. as long as there isn’t any mildew going on.
