Help please! I’m a plant novice trying to care for this prayer plant. I have been watering according to schedule. It has been on the windowsill of a south-facing window. Does this look like too much sun or a watering problem? The soil felt dry but loose. Today is watering day.

    It might be too much sun. Mine is doing well in an east facing window, but to the side that gets a bit less direct sun on it. ETA it doesn’t look similar to my prayer plant.

    Eek! I think that’s a diffenbachia. It likes to dry between waterings.

    Mine was healthy for 6 months. This past month it all of sudden got soft and started wilting. I don’t what happened. I repotted it and there were rotted roots.

      Over watering So next time you water it wait till the first top inch of soil is dry

      That’s what I’ve been doing and like I said it was fine and healthy since January. I haven’t watered it for weeks now.

      Personally I would get it out of the pot and rinse the roots with lukewarm water then trim any brown,black or mushy roots to get the damaged roots gone. From there your gonna want to water lightly and give it some plant food in fresh soil

      The plant gets to be like that when the plant has been sitting in undrained water that damages the roots
