I’ve had my Philodendron for more than a couple months now and it just hasn’t had much growth at all. It seems healthy enough, other than the fact it doesn’t grow. Any suggestions?

Are you in a colder area? Some plants go dormant for the winter. Good luck!

Does the pot have drainage? Do you fertilize it? Is it getting 8 hours of bright natural light (South or West) or 12 hours under a grow light each day? Poor drainage, low light and low or no fertilizer can slow growth.

Check the roots. The top soil area looks a bit narrow for that size plant. My first thought was to put it in a wider pot, 4” or 5”, if that opening is less than 4. I would use a plastic pot and a cute outer ceramic pot to make it easier to inspect the roots.

So many options to choose from! It is Winter though so it could just be the season. Most of my plants slow down in the winter, but I live in Iowa and it's been pretty gray around here.

Change pot to one with drainage holes. Swap for a chunky tropical mix soil or even consider self watering
